Berluti Winter 2019 Campaign stars brand ambassador Eddie Peng and showcases the essence of the Winter 2019 Collection, magnifying established signatures from a unique and subtle perspective and scintillating in style. The campaign is created under the supervision of the brand’s artistic director, Kris Van Assche and shot by Alasdair McLellan with M/M (Paris) studio’s art direction.
The campaign explores the pursuit of freedom - a lifestyle choice upheld by modern gentlemen. Free-spirited and witty, Eddie and his staunch belief in fearless exploration in life marries perfectly with the brand’s essence and vision. Much sought-after in the Asian cinema with a positive image and outstanding potentials, Eddie is always comfortable in his own skin, but not without a clear and intuitive mind. Apart from excelling himself in his professional endeavour with widely acclaimed performances, Eddie has as well cut a role model image through his highly disciplined lifestyle and charitable contributions. Since its establishment in Paris in 1895, Berluti has always been pursuing sophisticated craftsmanship and elegance, which culminates in the conservation of the heritage at the heart of the Maison.
Dressed in the dark greyish blue leather jacket over a blue shirt in marble pattern from Berluti Winter 2019 Collection, Eddie appears in the campaign with his unruffled charisma. The neat and clean silhouette of the jacket, coupled with sharp shoulders, contrasts prominently with the soft silk. The fervent pursuit of craftsmanship is registered in the seemingly effortless design. Another suit in grey marble pattern, paired with matching silk shirt and tie, exemplifies the subtle and poised temperament in the brand’s sartorial vision. The grey marble pattern, inspired by the marble table on which Berluti’s artisans perform the patina process, is homage to the Maison’s dyeing technique.
The metal details on the Alessandro Edge oxford shoes in calfskin are the icing on the cake. Sharp lines and metal appliqués add to the modern, almost cubist, aesthetic of the shoes. As the emblematic creation of the brand, the Alessandro oxford is crafted from one single piece of leather without any exposed stitches. This classic style is reimagined with new elements each season. For the Winter 2019, the Artistic director has the shoes reformed with the Edge shoe last. The classic Alessandro is thus reborn with a bevelled metal toe cap reminiscent of a glittering diamond. Meanwhile, the white Stellar sneaker, embodying minimalism in its purest form, is a must-have casual footwear for gentlemen. The “Berluti 1895 Paris” logo is again featured prominently in the campaign. Celebrating the past while looking forward to the future, the logo honours the brand’s formative codes while retaining the undressed reset of the maison. The result is an eloquent emblem of the subtle elegance of modern gentlemen that transcends ostentation.
