Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park - Experience The Legendary Urban Luxury

When it comes to selecting a hotel, either for business or leisure (or both), we are often being spoilt by choice. With such a competitive range of selection of hotels to chose from, from the design and facilities one could offer to cater for your special needs, the temptation of being able to maximize your perks with any associated travel programs, frequent flyers point collection and upgrading possibilities to decide eventually on that one particular pick and for that one-of–kind experience, you need to choose wisely and travel brilliantly. mylifestyenews writes.

Inspired by the Queen’s passion that “the cultural heritage of Thailand resides within its people”, Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park signifies heritage in a venue where legendary Thai hospitality blends with the “Travel Brilliantly” philosophy of the Marriott brand. Strategically located along Sukhumvit Road in one of Bangkok’s busiest downtown areas for business and entertainment, Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park is also surrounded by several luxurious and lifestyle shopping malls with close proximity to Phrom Phong BTS Skytrain Station, as well as a lovely and recreational lush Queen’s Park as the oasis in the bustling city. With such a vibrant district at the capital’s pulsing epicenter, it enables mobility and easy access to some of the city’s most talked about hotspots.

There are seven essential criteria needing to be met to be a success of all Marriott Marquis and stand out from the rest of the Marriott hotels. In order to experience the epic and legendary luxury of an outstanding hospitality to be delivered, first it has to be centrally located in the city centre of any of the major gateway cities and followed by the architecture of the building it has to be iconic and able to become the city landmark. Unique wow and physical features or amenities that differentiate the experience from other hotels in the market is a must and the standard for Marriot Marquis hotel rooms & suites should include more than a thousand guest rooms, 100,000+sqf of total space that is refreshed with Marriot modern on-strategy décor and technology.

MICE plays one of the major keys with extensive convention and well equipped meeting facilities – the size and number of meeting spaces is greater than most Marriott Hotel properties and flexible spaces with current technology, light, sound etc, outstanding food & beverage capabilities and service for events and able to cater to large meeting groups or events of over 1,000 persons. Not forgetting by offering amplified food & beverage outlets at least a minimum of 4 distinct dining experiences with signature or thematic restaurants. Further to that, additional amenities such as larger fitness center facilities like their own Marquis Fitness recreational facilities and appropriately sized concierge lounge that also needs to be in consideration by meeting the Marriott Marquis unique yet compact standard. The hotel lobby is stunning, with a soaring high ceiling that is well laid-out and sectioned by the redecorated semi wrapped around brass mirror strong based pillars that were the original pieces from the previous premise and adorned with a roll of sparkling chandeliers that illuminates the majestic lobby. History is well preserved here no doubt.

The spacious Lobby Lounge stationed with a black piano where live music is played in designated hours and the other side of the lobby is well decorated with well spaced out big lounge sofas, and modern furniture that is carefully selected with a contemporary Thai motif and design to reflect the Le Grand Foyer atmosphere. Small pots of seasonal flowers scattered around on the small tables around the sitting areas with full bloom potted white orchids are gracefully well placed and add to the sophistication of the lobby. The stylish area combines casual dining and drinks, afternoon tea popular here hosted by the expert “tea Sommelier”. The elegant lobby is pretty much full on during check-ins and check-outs. Reception desk is not the first thing you will see but a large counter of concierge team members that are readily standing by to cater for your needs with a separate section and specified allocation of group desk counters to cater for the mass MICE registration as well as the regular front desk services.

Across the foyer is the stylish Siam Tea Room that opens throughout the day offering carefully crafted deli and selected gourmet food selections. This delightful combination of Thai and Western deli-inspired outlet spans the culinary divide with a great selection of freshly-baked artisan breads, pastries, cookies  and cakes as well as authentic Thai flavors focusing on traditional recipes passed down from generation to generation with a wide variety of mouth-watering dishes.

We were escorted with great decency to the club floor to do our check-in. The hotel comprises of two different buildings – the north and south tower and our M Suite was reserved with seamless attention to details for a very smooth check-in by the greatest team of M Club floor service team. Their generous smile and gesture with a clear and short brief of M Club floor guest’s entitlements makes you feel very welcome and being looked after.

The canapés serve in the M Club lounge are more than an indulgent treat. In fact, it is a mini buffet and it comes with a live cooking station not only presenting with an entire leg of Parma ham, but with a great selection of cheese and also with some local Thai delights to luxuriate in your cravings.

While food & beverage plays an essential part for the hotel, the foodie scene in Bangkok Marriott Marqius Queen’s Park has a diverse range of fine dining restaurants and casual cafes to feed hungry business types and family. Our favorite pick includes the authentic Pagoda Chinese Restaurant that serves delicate Dim Sum and award-winning superior signature dishes from its vast selection menu. The dramatic Pan-Asian Akira Back Restaurant & Bar is also worth checking out before or after a drink ate the mystery and magic of Victorian London with the gritty edge of 1930s America decor ABar that transports you into a bygone era.

Besides the M Club, breakfast is also served at the enormous Goji Kitchen + Bar on the ground level behind the main lobby, partly facing the Queen’s Park. This all-day-dining establishment delivers authentic regional cuisine and popular western dishes in a stylish, social setting. With its refined urban vibe and dramatic open-plan kitchen with all live cooking stations, they ensure from the fresh juice bar to the barbecue station specializing in Parrilla-grilled meats and ocean-fresh seafood by using only the best ingredients to create a memorable dining experience. And yes, charcoal-grilled skewers and barbeque chicken are available for breakfast as well as an a-la-minute salivating noodles station. This is a massive international buffet spread with quality food selection and this is perhaps the only all-day-dining among Bangkok hotels that offers the most comprehensive breakfast selection especially from the local Thai selection. You will be sorry if you miss your breakfast at Goji Kitchen + Bar.
