W Taipei is a fun and playful hotel and you will feel the energetic vibes once you step into the hotel upon arrival. Taipei, formally known as Taipei City is tucked in the valley surrounded by mountains and river on the Taipei Basin, an ancient lakebed bounded by the two relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung and Xindian rivers, which join to form the Tamsui River along the city’s western border.
You can’t ask for more for W Taipei’s location, situated right above the City Hall Metro station in Xinyi District. It is where the current business, shopping malls as well as entertainment hub for both locals and visitors alike are located. Just a few blocks away, the 101 Taipei, local daily night markets, stylistic cafes, art districts are there to explore and not to mention the 24/7 operational Elite book store just a stone's throw away.
Despite our check-in being a little delayed by numerous questions asked on personal preference from rooms to dining out as well as festival and activities around town including the Gay Pride parade on the weekends, other than that, our Wonderful Room type overlooked the 101 Taipei and the panoramic city and mountain views with indoor terrace chill lounger.
The bold and vibrant colored bathroom with the wooden made ladder for hand towels has certainly added some good lighting and mood as well as the two way open closet and full length tri-fold-mirror offering an additional touch for such amenities. Don’t really get the quirky idea of the steel wall mounted "W-Here r we maps" and the W-Animal sculpture inspired by Chinese zodiac Characters but the standing tree light, 42’flat screen LCD TV with Bose 2.1 Sound System and the Mixologist laboratory with glass rack aka mini bar are another stand out add-ons to this Wonderful Room.

Every W hotel and resort is uniquely inspired by its destination, mixing cutting-edge design with local influences and creating a place to play or work by day or to mix and mingle in height-energy spaces by night.
Every outlets’ name is fun and playful, with FIT, the space gym with well-equipped latest training equipments as well as their modern steam and sauna which is quite essential and pretty much a local’s traditional hang-out to unwind throughout the entire four seasons in the year.

WET is where the 24 hours outdoor heated swimming pool is located, and it is the best haven to make a splash and anchored at one end by larger-than-life stainless water drop sculptures. Located on the 10th floor of the hotel and despite the neighborhood construction cranes disrupting the view against the spectacular Xinyi district, it is still a surreal spot for taking in the sun.

When the night falls, the mood lights brighten up the entire pool area with funky lounge music and it is ideal to kick back on those deckchairs as you sip their signature cocktails and nibble on bites from the WET Bar.
At night, the lobby is playing with lights and highlighting the sculpture and installation displayed.
WOOWBAR is one of the W Hotel’s signature bars worldwide and perhaps one of the most popular bars in Taipei. Mixologists mix up Taipei’s most extensive and innovative list of libations in this high ceiling hue bar. Evening hours are busy and best to have your table reserved to watch Taipei’s most fashionable people go by.
The Kitchen Table all-day-dining by the pool lets you indulge in all your favorite flavours from every corner of the continents with different themes catering for different seasons from the freshest ingredients they could gather.
The bright yellow and white interior with lots of china wares on display and hung - be it broken deliberately for its style or hidden below the glass top - as well as uneven level chair designs side by side, this spacious restaurant is more like a living space that is full of energy. It is refreshing and comfort fitting with attentive service and exceptional amenities.
They have taken the city’s “Yin Shi Wen Hua” - food culture - to the next level where you are taken on a worldly epicurean experience from breakfast to dinner. If you opt for more authentic Chinese cuisine, YEN Chinese Restaurant on the 31st floor is not to be missed.
While every hotel is unmistakably a W hotel, each has its own personality that is brought to life and always on the cusp of what’s new and next in design, even on music and fashion. It is anything but the standard that makes W Hotels a place to escape and get away from the everyday hotel experience.
