SANDRO AW2016 Women Collection

SANDRO AW2016 Women Collection continues to be permeated by urban culture pieces with a 90s London influence that the Sandro girl mixes up and layers this season with more delicate, feminine pieces to create a new attitude. The opulence of the fabrics and prints used this season by the Paris-based house is striking, making a lasting impression without dampening the freshness and youth of this winter collection.

Jacquards, lace and embroidery work together to set the tone for the collection, and the house juxtaposes them with classic womenswear pieces. So there are embroidered tigers on silk bomber jackets, jackets constructed like kimonos, cotton dresses in mixed fabrics revealing a lace neckline, or top and skirt sets in jacquard weave. The house also focuses on prints, changing as the season goes on: f loral, animal or vintage designs.

A series of coats in fur, sheep’s wool or rabbit, whether just in one colour or leopard print, is given a new slant with high-waisted cropped jeans. Remaining true to the legacy of the brand, men’s silk pyjamas printed with little tigers are added to this winter collection. Worn together or separately, they provide a resolutely modern look.

Sandro has also chosen to showcase its clear taste for hybridisation. As a result, three-quarter length wool cloth coats have been given quilted silk or bomber jacket sleeves. Finally, jackets and reversible parkas bring a workwear feel to this collection, with a single colour on one side and animal print on the other.
