the exclusive launch of limited edition vintage collection.
The opening of this unique 75th anniversary pop up store at ifc mall recently marked by a jubilant launch party held in the atrium showcasing the Vintage collection to be sold in the store as well as wearing Coach Pre-Spring 2017 Collection.
Three iconic vintage silhouettes are presented in the commemorative vintage bags collection, taking a look back on the brand’s 75-year history in quality leather goods production. Selected specially for the collection are the Dinky, Stewardess and Duffle, originally created by Coach in the 1970s and 1980s and sourced from all over the world.
Over 18 months the bags underwent major restoration and reinvention by hand by Coach artisans in New York before each was given one of three hand-applied motifs – Fringe, Rip & Repair, and Vintage Stripe, all of them a nod to the brand’s DNA that centers on craftsmanship, heritage and innovation.
The combination of the past and the future, which Coach holds so dear, is further accentuated by a subtle hint of Coach FW2016 women’s collection, appearing as the brand’s iconic elements such as turn-lock; rocket, flash and dinosaur patches; “creatures” embellished with functional features to form a unique facial expression; and “Tea Rose” 3D floral applique. These elements are either designed or renewed by Stuart Vevers, Creative Director of Coach, whose visions have steered Coach towards a major and successful revamp.
On the same note of bridging history and innovative visions, the 75th anniversary pop up store takes inspiration from the very first Coach store in NYC, creating a time capsule that brings the past into the present at ifc mall. Furnished with the original fixtures of the old store, the interior of the pop up store is designed to stand out as the most befitting showcase of Vevers’ unapologetic creativity.
