Victoria Beckham has been working with specialized local workshops within the Valdobbiadene region in Italy. The unique expertise offered by these studios, encompassing both artisanal craftsmanship and cutting edge technology, has allowed for a total focus on innovation and premium quality for SS2016 - the first full collection to be produced within this new manufacturing process. In keeping with this emphasis on quality, Zeiss certified lenses are used across the collection ensuring optimum optical performance and protection. An exclusive anti-reflective coating, specially developed with Zeiss to eliminate light reflections and limit glare, features a bespoke, rose-gold hue.
This season’s stand out shape - the VB is a bold acetate design that provides a new signature style. With an iconic yet eminently wearable silhouette, it is ideal for everyday and offered in 6 different colourways. Perhaps most notable is the sheer Plumetis acetate with tiny black dots running through cleverly incorporating the polka dot tulle Ready-to-Wear fabric. The idea of a brand signature within the eyewear collection extends from the new shapes to the more minute details. The core wire within the sunglasses’ arms has been exposed this season and discretely embossed with the VB logo deliberately revealing an inner working and making a feature out of it.
The SS2016 the signature ‘V’ shaped arm tips have been updated in clear crystal and
also classic black. The offer this season has been developed with a total of 11 entirely new styles, including feminine, lightweight shapes such as the Fine Wave and Enamel Wave, alongside more graphic, contemporary styles like the Upswept Oval and Supra Kitten with their striking, flat fronts. Materials used in the flagship Dover Street store interior provide inspiration for this season’s key new acetate colours. The Bespoke Pointillist – a lush green acetate containing fine black mesh flecks, echoes the store’s green glass surfaces, whilst the Vanilla and Caramel Marble acetates mimic the natural warmth of the rich brown American walnut store fittings. As seen on the Combination Cat frame, the Fleck acetate features softly blurred markings, giving the effect of abstract paint strokes. Providing an easy going, summery counterpart to these refined acetates; a new capsule collection of the ever-popular aviator evokes the beaches of California with matte white frames bordering vibrant mirrored lenses.
