The Ritz-Carlton Spa by
ESPA launches a unique 80-minute Shell
Power Treatment, optimizing the time-tested therapeutic
benefits of tiger striped clam shells, and
the latest addition to ESPA’s Advanced Tri-Phase line, Optimal Skin ProCleanser. The treatment is
designed to soothe irritated skin in the
allergy-inducing season of spring, and leaves the
skin beautifully clean and visibly radiant. The journey begins with
a consultation with our experienced spa therapist, who will
identify uncomfortable areas and establish guest
preferences before a complete back massage on those tense muscles using relaxing aromatic massage oil and heated lava
shells. The shells, releasing calcium ions naturally when heated which
transfer to the skin when pressed, help to firm and regenerate the skin apart
from easing aches especially on the lower back and shoulders. The
treatment is then followed by a one-hour spa facial, first with the use of the
latest ESPA Optimal Skin ProCleanser, an advanced multifunctional gel cleanser,
exfoliator and mask, filled with natural healing ingredients such as moringa seed extract, jojoba spheres and
pumpkin enzymes that gently remove every trace of make-up and dull cells,
getting the skin ready for the power of glacial shells.
Resembling a stunning blue sky in color, the handcrafted glacial shell is a perfect tool for cold treatments of skin irritation and water retention on the face due to climate change. The therapist will use different parts of the shells to complement various massage strokes and apply gentle pressure in this cooling massage. The massage triggers the narrowing of blood vessels, and when they dilate again, fresh blood and oxygen supply rushes to the affected areas, increasing blood circulation, promoting natural healing and soothing the skin. The Shell Power Treatment eliminates tensions and toxins internally and externally, and the therapeutic contrast of hot lava shells and cold glacial shells promotes optimal wellness and balance to leave the skin refreshed, revitalized and ready for the coming hot summer season. The 80-minute treatment is available from March 1 to June 30 and is priced at HK$ 1,980 from Monday to Thursday. A supplement of HK$100 applies to Fridays to Sundays and Public Holidays. The above price is subject to a 10% service charge.
