ZENITH is one
of the rare watch Manufacturers to have succeeded over the decades in creating
timeless watches naturally including models dedicated to women for almost
150 years. The Star collection is enriched this year with three new versions of
the Star 33 mm watch, featuring an understated cushion-shaped case housing a
delicate mechanism. Available this year in white or rose gold, including one
model entirely set with brilliant-cut diamonds, these new 2014 releases will
doubtless appeal to a woman looking for a timepiece that resembles her. Zenith’s visionary
founder Georges Favre-Jacot was known for taking good care of his employees.
For his single female employees, he had dedicated housing built in districts of
Le Locle, the small town in the Jura mountains of Switzerland where he
established his production premises – the first watchmaking Manufacture in the
industrial sense of the term. Over the years, this revolutionary entrepreneur
consistently expressed through watchmaking his love for women – a passion that
has continued to pervade the company since 1865. The spirit of the House has
naturally resulted in ladies’ models also imbued with daring and authenticity:
from the pocket watches of the early decades to the complicated wristwatches of
today, as well as pendant jewellery watches, ladies’ watches are an enduring
love story for Zenith and one that is regularly nurtured by fresh
“declarations”. The Star 33 mm
radiates the charm of watches capable of combining seductive appeal with
horological excellence. At once classic in terms of its understated shape and yet
timeless through the elegance of its style, it now comes in a range of three
models that assert themselves with self-evident force. While the dimensions of
its case are now well known and feature in its name, the design of the Star 33
mm 2014 is strikingly pared-down and adorned only with essentials – the sparkle
of diamonds denoting an authentic character that transcends ephemeral trends.
