Chivas Regal hosted a press conference to launch ‘The Venture’
– a global search for the most promising social entrepreneurs: those with businesses
or ideas that use enterprise and innovation as a force for good in Hong Kong recently.‘The Venture’ was first launched in the UK, followed by the USA, Japan,
China and now in Hong Kong. ‘The Venture’ is an international fund which
provides aspiring social entrepreneurs with $1 million of financial assistance,
global exposure for their company or idea, and support from world-famous
business mentors. Chivas Regal will support those who aim to succeed whilst
making a positive impact on the lives of others by providing mentorship and
financial backing. Up to 20 of the most exciting new social entrepreneurs from
different countries will be invited to a week-long, entrepreneur’s
training-camp in Silicon Valley, California - home to some of the world’s
leading start-ups. These finalists will have the opportunity to meet leading
tech companies, be mentored by experts, and pitch for a portion of the $1
million in funding to take their business to the next level. The joining process of
“The Venture” contest is simple and straightforward. The contestants in Hong
Kong simply register at www.TheVenture.com and fill in a form. The competition
is open to public and is not limited to those who own a company. The young
entrepreneur, without a company, can also join the competition by submitting a
film (max. 2 mins) or a presentation deck introducing the business and
describing how the business works. The business idea has to achieve social good
- either contribute to the welfare or betterment of others, or be
environmentally sustainable, etc. All applications must be submitted by January
12, 2015.
