KIT NEALE FW2014 Men Collection continues to explore themes of British life and London living, illustrated in the brands signature use of bright colours and graphic prints. Developing from the SS2014 collection, which explored Kit ’s native Peckham, this season the collection continues to explore his hometown turf of South London and moves up the road to the Elephant and Castle. A number of highlights to this season’s collection is the repetitive use of rats as a print in a monochrome story, and the prominent use of luxurious materials such as screen printed fabrics and woven jacquards. “Our studio’s favourite would have to be the Jacquard Bomber Jackets, being able to really bring our prints to life with the textures of fered in a jacquard is a really strong progression.”
Over the past 6 months, the brand has collaborated on exciting projects such as a designer Sky Digital HD Box and a capsule collection exclusive to Opening Ceremony, following a collaboration with the ‘Architectural Foodsmiths’ Bompas and Parr. This season, KIT NEALE has teamed up with MiPac to create a range of holdalls, including rucksacks, duf fle bags and tablet cases.
“This season we pay homage to the Elephant and Castle, a largely run down district that is largely preoccupied by a huge roundabout and dated shopping mall. We’ve adopted the mascot of an Elephant statue with a castle on its back which has been incorporated into the prints, juxtaposed with floral references from the British Museum. I think we’re starting a crusade to get this displayed in the museum itself!”
