During the auction of Monsieur Vivier’s personal collection on 30th November 2011 at the Auction House de Neuilly, the French luxury Maison of accessories that re-launched the brand 8 years ago, avoided the dispersion of this unique heritage by acquiring an important part of the most exceptional pieces. In addition to the models designed for celebrities of the past century such as Elizabeth Taylor or John Lennon, the Mask sandals, the thigh boots or the pumps embroidered by the Atelier Lesage in the sixties, which reached high auction amounts, women can now dream by admiring the pump created by Roger Vivier in 1962 for Princess Soraya who was auctioned at a breaking record value of 19,750 Euro. This unique patrimony, that Monsieur Vivier donated to the Romans Museum while alive and which was threatened to be spread around the world, was rescued thanks to a joint effort of the Maison Roger Vivier, the French Shoe Federation and the French State who preempted a part of the pieces that were displayed at the Romans museum. The Maison Roger Vivier is considering donating back to the Romans Museum a part of this collection in order to allow the public to continue admiring these masterpieces and to pursue letting women dream with its contemporary collections which continue to seduce Princesses and celebrities of the 21st century.
