Blancpain and Lamborghini first joined hands in 2009 to create an exceptional automobile championship. Super Trofeo is not only the first Lamborghini racing series, but has also become the world’s fastest and most demanding single-make championship. 30 gleaming Lamborghini Gallard cars – the latest version of this legendary model – face off on six equally fabled race tracks. Each of these speed machines bears the colours of Blancpain, while the car driven by Mr. Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain, is entirely dedicated to the brand. To celebrate these superlative races, the Manufacture in Le Brassus presented the Super Trofeo Flyback Chronograph, a resolutely sporting watch, in 2009, with a production run limited to 300. Since the Super Trofeo’s first race season in 2009, Blancpain and Lamborghini have organized the race for three years and it will continue in both Europe and Asia. In 2010, the L-EVOLUTION “Super Trofeo” Flyback Chronograph was launched to celebrate the glorified alliance of the two legends. The design of the titanium case specifically designed for the L-EVOLUTION “Super Trofeo” Flyback Chronograph is inspired by the sleek profile of the Lamborghini Gallardo. At this heart of this sophisticated and performance-oriented case is the throbbing “engine”, Calibre F185, which drives the watch to maintain extreme performance at all time. Featuring flyback chronograph function as well as 40 hours of power reserve, the movement powers a range of functions including hour, minute, small seconds and date display at 6 o’clock, as well as the chronograph indications with a central sweep seconds hand, 30-minute counter at 3 o’clock and 12-hour counter at 9 o’clock. The unmistakable black carbon fibre dial is distinguished by two red and white 9 and 12 o’clock numerals stylised to evoke the numbers painted on the 30 Lamborghini Gallardo race cars. With water resistance up to 100 m and a limited production of 600, the L-EVOLUTION “Super Trofeo” Flyback Chronograph is indeed a must-have for collectors, connoisseurs and supporters of the two brands.
