《Anselm Reyle @ DIOR》

From the exhibition Christian Dior & Chinese Artists, held at the UCCA in Beijing in 2008 to the inspiration Dior exhibition in 2011 at the Pushkin Museum in Moscow, which juxtaposed a dialogue between art and haute couture, the house of Dior announced another unique collaboration with Berlin-based artist Anselm Reyle who immersed himself in the heart of Dior was given Carte Blanche to create a collection of accessories.

Reyle loved working on the lady Dior Handbag and most of his work builds on objects that already exist, he then transformed and applied the same philosophy on the creation. Reyle played with colours, shaking up the codes of the mythical avenue Montaigne couture house, which offered all it's savoir-faire to serve his imagination. The legendary cannage on the Lady Dior and Miss Dior handbags takes on bold, freestyle interpretations. Twisted, tilted and reinterpreted in a range of colours, each bolder that the next, the topstitching contrasting against bright metallic leathers, it becomes urban, chic and ultra-moden.

Fluorescent camouflage, Reyle wanted to superimpose tilted cannage on the camouflage motif and created a sense of movement and burst of colours. As for the characteristic Lady Dior Charms, they are accompanied by coloured triangles which is Reyle's graphic signature.
