Renowned for creating wonderful guest experiences, SALA Hospitality
Group has now over five properties throughout Thailand and SALA Phuket Resort
& Spa was the second property opened in late 2007 and still has something
special to say when it comes to intuit the sense of luxury experience. By mylifestylenews.
Once being backpackers’ paradise, the infamous Phuket island is now an International name for global travelers flocking into this energetic isle of Thailand for many various reasons. Since Patong beach is the pilgrimage for many first time visitors and yet North Phuket is less travel by mainstream tourists for some of its pristine beaches and quote a few luxury resorts for those who knows and wishes to discover the unusual scenery in Phuket.
Located on the quite and peaceful Mai Khao beach on Phuket’s northwest shoreline, SALA Phuket Resort & Spa is only 20 minutes from Phuket International Airport although it may seems miles away from the other sightseeing highlights but sometimes, it is beauty of having isolated yourself from the bustling outside world when comes to a luxury vacation.
Impressive water feature reflection welcoming every guest's arrival.
The stunning SALA Phuket Resort and Spa is designed in low-rise edifice and it is all about subtle architectural with detail design elements within. Featuring deluxe pool villa resort with private swimming pools in 63 out of 70 rooms, villas and suites, the resort design combines rare historical Sino-Portuguese architecture with modern five star facilities.
The resort's brief waiting lounge area at the reception.
Local flora sprouting around the paths at the resort entrance with a vast reflecting water feature welcoming you to the reception through the long runway, you may enter as stylish as you want to be by showing your best way to make a grand entrance.
When you walk further inside the resort by following the bricked walk ways, you will get to see a reflecting pond with water lilies, tile and brick work influenced by intricate patterns that referenced on many different surfaces throughout the resort. Swings are hung below the giant trees around the resort for further fun and play.
Birdlife are easily found in all the magnificent trees within the villa walkways along the main pool and beach restaurant surrounded by beautifully mowed lawn. The serene surrounding with tall pine tree all around the promenade and beachfront offers a more peaceful mood for relaxation.
Swings are found in the resort for your enjoyment.
The SALA Pool Villa that was our home away from home for the next few days has something very unique to offer. Upon entering through a private gateway, you will immediately find yourself cloistered in your own 157 sqm private mini resort.
We have a stunning 22.5 sqm length private swimming pool surrounded by a luxurious air-conditioned bedroom, a huge open-air outdoor bathroom, lush tropical gardens and twin sun loungers on a small sundeck. The mood of colours used throughout is based on subtle pastel paint tones that evokes an air of tranquility no matter where you roam.
For there are some flaws in our villa with the internal bedroom/living quarters was very long, but not very wide, so finding enough space for two large suitcases to spread out was not optimal. The indoor bedroom includes a full size daybed, writing desk, mini bar and flat screen LCD television with DVD player with home entertainment hung on the supporting pillar.
Despite the TV was placed at the far end corner where you have to tilt your head each time to only one direction while watching it. Nevertheless, TV is never our priority when comes to staying in such well facilitated resort. Moreover, the beauty of this villa is for you to enjoy and indulge in your own villa pool instead.
The spectacular open-air bathroom features dual sink vanities despite the strong afternoon sunlight really brings in the direct heat that possibly undermine the amenities being access to the high temperature.
From outdoor shower, oversized stone bathtub and a relaxing daybed right next to the villa pool, the villa felt very personal in design and touches, with the architectural motifs resonating throughout, whether it was the etched glass panels, entrance gate design, wall tiles or the lighting.
Dining is a key facet of this luxury resort, the SALA Beach Restaurant and Beachfront Bar will be your main focus throughout the stay. This open-air restaurant is located on the beachfront adjacent to the swimming pools – all that it between you and the beach is a great expanse of lawn and some very mature lines of trees, and also offers an air-conditioned “glass house” section for breakfast.
It offers an exceptional blend of mouth-watering international
cuisine and scrumptious traditional Thai delicacies, serving fresh seafood from
the waters surrounding Phuket for a more sustainability gesture. This restaurant precinct is part of the charm of this resort overlooking the pool, beach and beyond that creates a peaceful atmosphere from any angle. Breakfast was a delightful experience every day, as the set up is whimsical – market carts, bicycles and that creates a beach-casual yet enchanting ambience.
The buffet set-up was designed to take you to different parts of the breakfast
room, so no queues forming in any one particular area and to be able to order
as many hot dishes off the a la carte menu as you want means that you design
your own menu at a pace of your choosing. The eggs dishes and Asian curries dishes
come with rice/noodle are simply superb with consistency of standard in delivery.
The inviting main swimming pool
Spa treatment is
another option to fill in your day’s schedule or approach the front desk to
rent a bicycle and go around the near lake or simply doing nothing by indulging
yourself with your favorite cocktails by the resort’s long infinity swimming.
You never felt bothered about anything and each day always seemed serene around
the pool for absolute bliss.
We could not think of a more fitting final destination to our time in Phuket Resort and Spa. North Phuket has always its potential for those who know and opt for alternative lifestyle vacation by finding the right resort to stay with.
With seemingly like-minded guests also seeking tranquility, not once did we hear a jarring noise or staff not being able to fulfill everyone’s need. The philosophy of SALA Hospitality Group is an understated elegance with a casual vibe and laid-backed sense of style that you could not get enough of. This beach-side living with a difference is simply captivating.
