The huge "Bird Nest" is the sign of coming home and welcome back that you won't miss upon arrival. All artworks express nature, youth and vitality in line with the modernity of the surroundings including the use of bamboo for birdcages at the lobby, ground floor and first floor.
Arriving at EAST Hotel Hong Kong is simple and easy with the great public transport in Hong Kong and sits atop Tai Koo station. Paperless check-in system is enhanced here as most information was pre-registered upon confirmation of the reservation, so you can get to your room quickly. When you see the view from your room, you are pleased they take less time at the front desk and immediately blown away by the Harbour front corner room. To our delight, we were upgraded to the best Harbour View Suite on the 30th floor. The 60 sqm suite has a jaw-dropping view of Hong Kong’s busy harbor, with the incredibly high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows on two sides. The design is minimalist chic, light woods tone and bright marble, the room is flooded with natural light with the uninterrupted view. The suite room was just picture perfect and comfortable that you may even want to consider spending more time in it instead.
Design elements are found everywhere at EAST Hotel Hong Kong, it doesn’t seem stopping. Bubble chairs in each suite is hung from the ceiling in one corner to unwind yourself while enjoying the view and perhaps sunset. You can also make friends with the in-suite limited edition resin dinosaur - Dino! The figurative dinosaurs in acid colours of orange, turquoise, green and yellow only available in the suites inject brightness, warmth and a touch of humour into the spaces. Love it!
The king beds are absolutely heavenly, with gorgeous linens and simple to use bedside controls, waking up in the morning and flicking a switch opens the blinds to that million dollar view before you even get out of bed, another heavenly thoughtful design. The bathroom is equally sleek and chic in design, with no expense spared. There are beautiful Elemis amenities, his and hers vanities, a walk-in rain shower and inviting bathtub that allow you to enjoy the view while soaking oneself or just enjoying a great shower experience for relaxation. Space is essential here.
All rooms boast the latest technology, the suites feature a
42 inch Apple TV, an iPod touch, an iHome player, complimentary mini bar (they
have thought of some great snacks to include that we couldn’t get enough of),
great tea infusions and coffee makers and a handy smartphone device – a free
device that allows you to enjoy free local and international calls to selected
destinations which you can take with you anywhere in Hong Kong.
For pleasure, EAST Hotel Hong Kong punches above its weight. The gym (Body by Beast) is the 24-hour fitness centre on the 4th floor,
offering a spacious, naturally-lit gym, a refreshing juice bar and an outdoor
heated swimming pool.
Being a business hotel, food plays an important part of
every business person’s day and Food by FEAST is the place to fill your empty
stomach or satisfy your cravings for all types of delicious food. Inspired cascade of butterflies welcomes you while you enter this modern and bright all day dining.
Breakfast is simply scrumptious from all angles, although it
is a bit light on the Asian food offerings, but this is tailored to their
business clienteles’ needs. Every aspect seems to have been well thought
through and they do not stint on quality. Pastries are more-ish, with a great
selection of a la carte offerings to add to your buffet choice. The Croque
Monsieur for example, was stuffed with very piquant ham and melted Swiss cheese
to create a very decadent start for the day as well as the flaky croissants
which bake beautifully.
East Hotel Hong Kong is one of those hotels that continues
to surprise you and you just have to admire their creativity. The staff are
very switched on in all areas of the hotel and they never failed to meet our expectations.
There are thoughtful touches in choices of amenities with essential needs and there is a distinct
emphasis on quality of furnishings which creates an overall product that exudes
style. We tried to find flaws with less luck as they have look into most
details and not afraid to please. East Hotel Hong Kong is not about old-fashioned
hospitality, but modern with efficient service and lifestyle that easily meets the
demanding business travelers and completely won us over and simple because they
deliver.
