Wynn Hotel Main Foyer
Arriving at the Macau ferry terminal, the pick-up service was perfectly courteous and helpful. The driver equally kept our expectations on a high spirit despite the short trip to the resort amiably chatting and answering our inquiries about the resort. A ten minutes drive with least traffics to arrive at the hotel, with a speedy check-in, we were escorted to our suite by a hotel representative.

The Wynn Club Foyer
As we stepped out of the lift on the 20th floor, we immediately stepped into a corridor of dark brown/black carpet and a quasi dark grey tartan check wallpaper which we found so appropriate, given that many other hotels go for light colours that show every stain and mark. Here, it all looked brand new and would not show any wear and tear so easily.
The second the door to our suite was opened it was the WOW moment: floor to ceiling windows framing Macau’s old and new landmarks through the windows, with a generous space that seemed impossibly larger than we needed, but that is the point of being a leading luxury hotel/resort brand in any location, to have such an opportunity to exceed expectations with that first impression.
After a quick guided tour of the suite, it was time to have a closer look at every detail. The décor is a pleasant palette of subdued creams and whites, with the accent of colour by way of artwork and flooring rugs and tiles. It is all about the view and after the dark tones of the floor hallway, this colour scheme created a reviving feel, no matter what the weather was like outside even it was dark and rainy throughout our stay.
Given that the hotel is already opened since 2006, it is not showing much signs of age, hats off to the team for looking after the details. It shows the sign of valuing the guests decision to reaffirm Steve Wynn’s vision of maintaining standards no matter what. There is a guest bathroom, a spa therapy suite complete with iPod docking station for a more exclusive spa therapy treatment in their own room. A well stocked signature bar area with a bar counter to entertain guests, extremely large lounge area with a working desk on the side and a corner seating area to enjoy your in room dining experience.
More than 1,000 rooms and suites at the luxurious Wynn and Encore towers are exquisitely furnished and extravagantly spacious with the bustling Macau City view, mostly featuring Wynn signature beds, Egyptian cotton linens and touch control technology. Each tower has a completely different look and feel playing with themes and colors.
The bedroom with the signature Wynn king bed and Egyptian cottons are flatly ironed to perfection and a bathroom that was bigger than the bedroom, encompassing an enormous shower bay, a relaxation bath/Jacuzzi and his and hers wardrobes as well as vanity areas with a toilet off to the side. While you think it is much more than you need, you do get used to it quickly and thoroughly enjoy the luxury of space that this suite has to offer. The Bambu bathroom amenities are also an exclusive in house product for a touch of additional luxury. The lighting and curtain controls are very easy to use, so another tick for ease of use and comfort, modern technology does compliment the lifestyle without much compromised.
Turn down service is a feature of suite living and it is extremely thorough and extra requests were well received and delivered by the polite housekeeping staff at all times. Our first night’s sleep was heavenly and you could not want for a more comfortable bed, the Egyptian cotton sheets aka the King for all cottons are so soft and cuddly; we woke up feeling very rested and ready to explore the environs of the hotel and beyond. But first, breakfast is essential.
We headed down to Café Esplanada, located on the ground floor,
overlooking the pool and garden courtyard expanse. This international cafe at
Wynn Macau offers an eclectic menu of Mediterranean and Western dishes, Asian
noodles and South-East Asian specialties, as well as Japanese, Korean and
Macanese.
The breakfast buffet spread is quite extensive and we had a number
of different selection in small bites, maybe all of them actually. A breakfast
buffet for us is usually fraught with disappointing results and food that has
been out too long and not cooked to perfection. The quality of Dim Sum options are
quite satisfactory as well as the stir-fried noodles on the chafing dish which
was laid earlier and replenished regularly. We don’t expect much when it is
served on buffet but this is beyond what you would need. Restaurant Manager
Amos Tan insisted us to try their a-la-minute egg benedict, we were hesitant to
begin with but to prove Tan’s recommendation is right, the eggs was sublime with
perfectly runny yolks. Beautifully baked large croissants and other pastry
items that almost looked too good to be true, it was equally delicious at first
bite with flaky crust texture. Multiple home-made yogurts that burst with fruity flavours, real tea
leaves in a proper pot that certainly had some refinement in taste.
This breakfast buffet at Café Esplanada offer you the pleasure to enjoy, as they were careful in not putting too much out, thereby having to replenish regularly and the service was exemplary as well, an extra bonus. Of course the real test is to see if this can be replicated the next morning to prove the consistency and so it was with the attention to details in flavours and presentation.
Wynn Macau Main Swimming Pool
Room with a view by night
A rest and relax is also needed, we headed out Café Esplanada through the site entrance which is adjacent to the two layers recreation pools. Cabanas and lounge chairs are scattered around the lush of garden and surrounded by the calming and serene effect despite some extension works are on progress which is still not a bother to us. But, do not get too intimidated while having cameras snapping selfies through the lobby glass windows wall overlooking at the pool while you are sunbathing or spreading your wings in the middle of the swimming pool. You will get used to it. It is always hard to bid farewell especially when you have just begun to get used to a place that provide such luxurious comfort with a home away from home. But sometimes it is good to leave with a whetted appetite and wanting to return in a not so distance future especially at Wynn Macau - a mirage luxury dream come true.
