Joan&David FW2015 brings feminity & flair to the collection with a diverse range of striking, contemporary looks for the modern woman. Ranging from candy brights to classic fall colors, from feminine to utilitarian forms, this season’s themes provide a style for everyone. The season’s first theme is <Eye Candy> - a vivid, youthful start to the season with accents of pink, yellow and tangerine. The <Suit du Jour> theme then introduces a more classically tailored look with slim, gently-flared pants teamed with statement coats. The third theme for Fall Winter <Plush Magic> features cozy wrap coats in decadently warm fabrics and darker shades, while the fourth line <Arctic Enchantment> celebrates Fall Winter with loose, deconstructed looks and a hint of androgyny. The <Super Naturals> theme is a fitting follow-up, providing a neutral counterpoint with soft knits and fresh citrus hues before rounding up the season with <Holiday>, a bold look with a rich red color story to brighten up the colder months.

Eye Candy

Starting the season off with intensity, the Eye Candy theme veers away from conventional autumn hues with Cobalt blue, hot pink, canary yellow and magenta. Vivid color blocking and vibrant prints contrast against basic black, creating a bold, fashion-forward look. Shift dresses, peacoats, trenches and variety of knits including long knit, chunky knit and knitted turtlenecks make this a flexible theme for the colder months, with flirty, knee-length dresses that transition easily from day to night.

Suit du Jour

Statement jackets and boot-cut trousers form the basis of the second theme of the season. Classic yet playful, this look features two-tone fabrics and coats in a variety of different cuts and lengths - perfect for mixing and matching. Baby blue, iris blue, ivory and soft greys lend this suit-focused, theme a soft femininity, while basic black separates can be worn for a wide range of occasions. 

Plush Magic

Sumptuous knits and oversized coats herald the coldest months of the year, with lush materials and cozy coats creating a comfortably chic look. Basic black and white dominate this theme, with pops of sapphire blue and hot pink adding contrast. Aside from stitching, white embroidery on black fabric creates a tailored look, while luxurious winter wrap coats and turtlenecks lend a deconstructed appeal.

Super Naturals

Neutrals come to the fore towards the end of the season, with taupe, sand and beige knits and coats presented in a tailored retro theme. Peacoats and wide-legged trousers make this a flattering look for all shapes, while chunky knits in lighter hues hint keep the mood fresh and youthful.

Arctic Enchantment

Oversized coats and wide-legged trousers give this theme a hint of androgyny, with a dark grey color story accented with light fall neutrals. Asymmetrical hemlines add a futuristic edge to this look, with an array of rich fabrics providing texture.

Holiday

Bold and brash, the Holiday theme celebrates red in an array of different hues, ranging from deep bordeaux, china doll red, fire red to fuschia. Color-blocking complements beautifully-embellished coats and brocade jackets, with form-flattering knits adding femininity to this eye-catching theme. Separates can be layered with neutrals for a contemporary-yet-classic look, while scarlet-hued statement dresses make a bold statement. This theme also carries evening dresses with luxe embroidery, adorned with beading details.

The two Creative Directors Gianni Velasche and Charles Amar bring to life their visions of perfection in footwear. Both are veterans of the footwear industry with over 50 years combined experience. Velasche hails from a luxury shoe design background, having designed for industry leading brands like Sergio Rossi, Yves St. Laurent and Louis Vuitton, while Amar’s expertise in trend spotting and footwear development, having designed for global footwear conglomerates like Nine West, Steve Madden and Charles David. Together, the design duo brings a perfect fusion of timeless elegance with modern flair to each collection, which has facilitated the rapid growth of the brand globally.
