When you set your foot in the mystical Langkawi island, finding wonders around and in search a wellbeing suited vacation, VIW, the V Integrated Wellness at the northern part of the island situated along the hillside of the Datai Bay overlooking the uninterrupted view of the Andaman sea is an ideal getaway and to get pampered. A journey to wholeness, mylifestylenews has it all......
The resort wellness approach is marked by signs with the V Integrated Wellness sign and this concept is inspired by the ‘Tree of Life’, an ancient metaphor for interconnectedness of all life, a sacred symbol of awakening to harmonies, ecstatic and compassionate journey towards conscious living. Subsequently, embracing a whole-person approach, V Integrated Wellness is dedicated to providing spa treatments, holistic therapies, beauty services, fitness and body-mind classes, healthy cuisine, educational and lifestyle workshops, and retreats for body, mind and soul.
So off to the spa we went and chose the signature Urut Melayu (Traditional Malay Massage), with a combined Barut Gamat Awet Muda (Regenerating Gamat Body Envelopment). Firstly, the spa location is one of the best locations in the resort, sitting at the far end of the beach on the hillside, with sweeping views of Datai Bay. Each spa villa is private, with an open treatment room looking out to Datai Bay, with an ensuite bathroom in a private outdoor courtyard. We only wish the weather was a little cooler and calmer in other for us to feel more relax and sorted. The therapist suggested us to take a quite rinse at the open air bathroom, of course in total privacy to cool our body down before the treatment began.
Once you have soaked up the stunning views, it is down to business for the treatment and this is started with a foot cleansing ritual combining salt and oils. Then it is time for a deep tissue massage with lemongrass and coconut oil using long kneading strokes with thumb and palm pressure focusing on the flow of blood in the urat (veins and arteries).
The Spa reception over looking the uninterrupted view at Andaman sea.
Strokes are directed towards the heart for invigoration purposes, while strokes going away from the heart are calming. As always, the pressure you wish to have has to be determined beforehand, but whether it is intense or not, the strokes take effect and you truly feel transported into a state of tranquility and calm. This massage is then followed by a body scrub, using a blend of lemongrass, rice and kaffir lime, which is incredibly effective, as the sloughing off of the dead skin cells leaves your skin feeling so soft afterwards.
