Montblanc presents the Montblanc heritage Chronométrie Dual Time special edition to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Elegant Watch & Jewellery. The appealing colour tone of
the dial design and hands is an elegant adaptation of the colour combination of
grey, red and golden of the company logo of Elegant
Watch & Jewellery. In order to highlight the “45th anniversary” theme,
the original numerals of 15, 30 and 60 are replaced by hour-markers while the 45-minute
indication is shown by Arabic numeral in golden colour, echoing the golden
globe in Elegant’s logo. The home time indication hand and the 24-hour hand
feature the Elegant red while the day indication features the Elegant grey. Precision, which has always been the paramount goal
of watchmaking, has become synonymous with the French word “chronométrie”, that
bears the meaning of “highly accurate time measurement”. Featuring a 41-mm polished stainless steel case
fitted with a polished and satin-finished bezel, the elegant delivers brisk
elegance and glamour. Driven by Calibre MB 29.19 with Manufacture complication
developed in-house by Montblanc, the timepiece can simultaneously display a
second zone time (local time) along with the home time indication. This feat is
achieved with the aid of a second hour-hand that can be reset in hourly
increments without affecting the position of the first hour-hand. If the user
does not need to display the second zone time, the second hour-hand can be set
so that it completely covers its counterpart for the time in the home zone. The
24-hour display at 12 o’clock shows the home time with a day and night
indication, while the small seconds indication is located at 6 o’clock and the
date window at 3 o’clock. The 45-minute indication is shown by Arabic numeral
in golden colour, echoing the “45th anniversary” theme. The contemporary colour
tone of the dial design and hands is a clever adaptation of the colour
combination of grey, red and golden of the company logo of Elegant Watch & Jewellery. Either fitted with a black
alligator-skin strap crafted at the Montblanc Pelletteria in Florence or a
stainless steel bracelet, the timepiece is water-resistant to 3 bar. All indicators are set
exclusively thanks to the crown. For example, one can set the time for a zone
time that is 6 hours behind the current setting by withdrawing the watch crown
to the first extracted position and then turning it to reposition the hour-hand
6 hours back to set the new local time. The crown conveys a palpable sensation
each time it triggers the hour-hand to progress through a one-hour increment
and toward the new zone time. Neither the minute-hand nor the second-hand is affected by this resetting:
both continue to run uninterruptedly, thus preserving the exact time. After
manual resetting has been accomplished, the user can simply reclose the crown
by pressing it inward to its original position. The new local time can now be
read from the dial and the date corresponds with the new zone time. The other
hour-hand remains unaffected by this and continues to show the home time. Each
timepiece has gone through the strict Montblanc Laboratory 500 hours test to
guarantee utmost quality.
