HKT Payment
Ltd launches Tap & Go that enables customers
to use their NFC mobile phones to make payments at more than three million MasterCard®
PayPass™ merchant locations worldwide as well as for online purchases recently. Tap & Go
is embedded in an NFC-based all-in-one SIM card. You can transfer money instantly to your family and friends who also have Tap & Go accounts via the
peer-to-peer mode. You can easily top up their
accounts by up to HK$10,000 per day to facilitate large transactions of up to HK$1,000 in stores, which is the highest among similar payment services in the
market at present. Together with the “always-on”
capabilty, payment in stores can be as simple as tapping their smartphones on PayPass contactless readers. Customers can
also have the option to set PIN protection for maximum security. Mr. Alex Arena, Group Managing Director of HKT, said, “HKT delivers
the best-of- breed mobile services in Hong Kong. Tap & Go unleashes the capabilities
of NFC and all-in-one SIM to bring a new, convenient and secure payment experience
for customers, further strengthening HKT’s leading position in the market.” Furthermore, you can make
online purchases with amounts up to HK$10,000. Instant money transfers (i.e. peer-to-peer
money transfer) between individual Tap & Go accounts are also available via
the smartphone app. Using the “PayBuddy” function, customers can send or
receive money by tapping their smartphones, or even remotely via phone-to-phone
connection. Both sender and recipient will receive a confirmation message once
the transaction has been completed. Customers can also review their past
three months’ transaction history anytime, anywhere via the Tap & Go app for
tracking and control purposes. The transactions are currently
settled in Hong Kong dollars, and foreign currency transactions will be enabled
in due course. Tap & Go will also bring customers
endless dining and shopping privileges. For further details, visit www.tapngo.com.hk or contact any 1010 or csl shop outlets.
