TOPSHOP AW2014/15 ad campaign stars Cara Delevingne. Shot in London by renowned photographer Alasdair McLellan and styled by TOPSHOP Creative Director Kate Phelan, the shoot features Cara wearing key looks from the AW2014/15 collections in a series of 12 compelling images that capture the young star at her beguiling best.
Cara’s first appearance for TOPSHOP was in 2010 when she featured in a KATE MOSS TOPSHOP campaign video. Her immersion into the brand family continued when she walked for TOPSHOP UNIQUE in the SS13, AW13 and SS14 catwalk shows. Cara's famed 'Harlem Shake' took place backstage at TOPSHOP UNIQUE AW13; the video clip in which she performs the infamous dance move has had over 1.6million views on YouTube. Cara also became the first model to live-stream content from a runway when she carried a ‘Google-cam’, concealed within a handbag, down the TOPSHOP UNIQUE runway, when TOPSHOP partnered with Google during London Fashion Week.
TOPSHOP is renowned for nurturing and developing emerging talent in the design, music, technology and modeling fields. Previous TOPSHOP campaigns have featured Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Lily Donaldson, Rosie Tapner and Eliza Cummings in the early stages of their careers; best friends Jourdan Dunn and Karlie Kloss famously met on a TOPSHOP campaign shoot. This is the first time a TOPSHOP campaign will feature a single girl as Cara alone dominates each image.
The campaign launch coincides with a phase of widespread international growth for the TOPSHOP TOPMAN brands. In the U.S, five new owned stores will open including a new flagship on 5th Avenue, which after the iconic 100,000 sq. ft. Oxford Circus store in London, will be the second largest store in the world. A store in Amsterdam, two further stores in Hong Kong and new market openings in Egypt, New Zealand and Panama demonstrate the brand’s ever growing global reach.
