TOD'S launches a dedicated advertising campaign to celebrate its iconic Gommino. The Tod's moccasin, known for the world over as the Gommino was created with the intention of combining clasic Italian style with a shoe that can be worn on any occasion. This casual chic moccasin took inspiration from the driving shoes used in the 50's. Its trademark is a sole covered with 133 rubber "pebbles" in the same color as the leather used for the shoe that gives a more distinctive look.
The leathers used in the manufacture of the Gommino come from the finest tanneries in the world and the process of putting this style together requires a high level of skill. The cutting of the leather and the sewing together of the pieces are done by hand, there are over 100 steps in the construction of a Tod's shoe. Depending on the design of the shoe, there are up to 35 pieces of leather in a single model and each needs to be individually treated and checked by hand before being assembled. The new advertising campaign was shot by Photographer Bruno VanMossevelde+N, styled by Micaela Sess and Art dirction by LDF.
