Stuart Weitzman Spring 2014 is a season of exploration exploring the varied and intricate nuances of a woman’s personal style, exploring the rich inspirations of global cultures, exploring the artistic interplay of unique textures and materials. This style journey incorporates an extensive range of striking silhouettes, exquisite handfinished details and a harmonious juxtaposition of elements that are at once elegant and earthy.
Hand-painted python, buttery nubuck and sumptuous suede provide a fresh counterpoint to gold finishes, jute accents, raffia detailing, woven textures and lug soles. Sandals, flats, booties and wedges are at once wearable and refined, thus tapping into every woman’s needs and desires. The multi-faceted fashion lover will soar to new heights in elegant single-sole stilettos and strappy sandals. The masterpiece of the season, the NOUVEAU pump, is re-imagined in exotic python and gets unparalleled artistic flair from a hand-painted floral motif. The NUDIST already a favorite of Hollywood A-listers is definitively sexy with its minimalist silhouette, crafted in luxe goosebump nappa.
The global glamazon always comes home, thus engaging her inner urban aesthete, for whom flats are a necessity. The Roman holiday continues, with the GREEK and the dramatic APHRODITE, both refined versions of the nouveau-classic gladiator. An infusion of elegance enters everyday essentials via the EXPO, accented with eye-catching specchio.
Inspired by the Bohemian jet set, the second area of exploration – the Tribal trend -- taps into the elegant insouciance of fashion pioneers around the globe. Stuart Weitzman is internationally renowned for his winning wedges, and thus the HUBCAPS headlines this trend group, replete with mixed metal stud details and a jute platform.
The ACCENT is edgy elegance redefined; a sexy, strappy, high-heel sandal with contrasting tipped edges with a subtle nod to its Gladiator-inspired origins. The BIARRITZ and the CAMPING jute-soled, elegant espadrilles round out this category with natural fiber accents counterbalanced with luxe exotic patterns and a touch of metallic hardware.
To wit, the bootie no longer considered just a fall/winter silhouette has become a spring wardrobe essential. Peep-toes, perforations, and laser-cut details all provide a new lightness of being. The INANDOUT melds perforated texture with a classic peep-toe, while the CAGEY further exaggerates laser-cut perforations, complete with a broad peep-toe and corset-inspired lace-up details.
This second Stuart Weitzman boutique is designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid. The all-glass facade storefront located within ifc mall in Hong Kong was chosen as a location for the new retail concept. “This collaboration continues to be a major company retail initiative to strengthen our presence in Asia, and expansion worldwide” said Stuart Weitzman, Executive Chairman. “The ifc mall location is the perfect global platform to offer the uniqueness of Zaha Hadid’s design as a showcase for Stuart Weitzman footwear.”
The Hong Kong flagship is fluid and playful. A dialogue of geometry and materiality creates an enchanting rhythm of folds and recesses further shaped by functional and ergonomic considerations. Modular display units showcase shoes and also provide seating, while a seamless integration of diverse forms invites our curiosity. The juxtaposition of these distinct elements of the design defines the different areas of the store. Rooted in a palette of subtle monochromatic shades, Hadid created an interior landscape of discovery centered on two separate zones to enhance the relationship between the customer and the collection.
