It was totally a bright sunny day while we arrived from a long drive way before we stopped the car at the front desk reception area (picture above), almost a drive in. We were right away embraced by the rustic and non contemporary unique architecture design, the rustic nature suits perfectly well as in the resort's brand image with great sustainability. Set on a gently sloping headland at the northern tip of Samui Island, 10 minutes away from the island's international airport allows you to have another reason to ask for a late-check out. Hold on a minute and we have just arrived and perhaps it is too early for that. This is our first Six Senses experience and we need time to discover every spots of it while we were here. A brief introduction was given whilst checking-in, we need time to discover this 20-acre enormous estate. We were escorted to the <Drinks on the Hill> for refreshment. These all purpose bar/lounge set on the hillside overlooking the infinity pool and an close by island as well as Koh Phangan (Thailand most famous island for its full moon party). The view is breathtaking and we nodded to each other and said to ourselves that we have come to the right places, without any confession. As told, Six Senses Samui had just received an Award of Excellence for Health Tourism, Health & Resort Spa from the Southern Region at the Thailand Tourism Awards 2013. This is the second occasion that Six Senses Samui has taken this prestige award. The resort is made up of 66 private villas, many with personal pools which are landscaped within natural vegetation, and with glorious, sweeping panoramas out to the Gulf of Thailand and the outlaying islands.
Although we were in no hurry, especially in such tranquil resort, our buggy driver signaled to us that he is ready to take us to our ocean view pool villa. Off we go after a short hilly ride and a small private pathway walk, villa 31 is us. The Ocean view pool villas are located throughout the resort and offer splendid views with extreme privacy. The bedroom located on the upper level and also from the lower level on which the private pool is located. A total of 160 sqm and a living space of 55 sqm. It is indeed a huge villa to our own. There is a sitting area and dining setting for intimate meals either inside the villa or on the pool terrace. Spacious bathroom with oversize bathtub, double vanities and we love the outdoor garden shower. A perfect haven to let lose and set yourself free while embracing the nature around us.

We put on our bathers and had a quick dip into our private villa pool to reduce the heat from the airy 35'c bright sunny day and then head on back to the main infinity pool for a more R&R moment.
With a 10 years property like this, it is pretty well kept. Wood, bamboo are used mainly interior and exterior design are still in good shape as well as the landscaping and gardening maintenance.
The temperature was rising, a few more laps in the water wouldn't hurt, it would be ashamed if you won't.
<Dining on the Hill> is the all day dining which serves a bountiful buffet together with Asian delicacies and lunch is a more balance cuisine approach and evening features Thai specialties. Besides, the patio sundeck dining area is one of the best spots to watch the evening sunset.
The harmonized interior is a well balance to the look-out ocean view.
