MONKI SS2014 collection is all about Jungle, it is full of Future Exotica, a collection drop that is exactly what it says it is: boldly exotic and urbanely futuristic. The silhouette are described as “ a matter of opposites attract”: an oversized blazer worn with a short cropped top or wildly printed legging and a daringly chunky shoe.
Everything in eye-grabbing materials, colours or prints. Monki’s inhouse studio’s high quality artworks have the playful attitude that is one of the storytelling concept’s trademarks.
In addition, Future Exotica also shows new developments in Monki’s popular underwear line, showcasing a selection of even more creative, fashion oriented pieces as well as constant favourites like the just-perfect simple bra and panties.
As always, Monki creates eclectic collections, apart from Future Exotica, a pink revolution, an ink-inspired orgy in blue, and a fun-and-funky street inspired drop called Body Map in store for its fans.
Monki believes that real style is about real people wearing fashion the way they want to and it wants to make campaigns that show precisely that. This time, monkifriend Ruvan Wijesooriya has shot a press campaign featuring Swedish student Fatima Osman and young Danish colour fantast and blogger Marie Myrhøj Jensen of Nemesis Babe, to project the message that a collection can, and should be, worn in a thousand different ways to express yourself!
“We feel that the fashion train is moving towards this exciting exotic place right now… and we want to be in the driver’s seat. It’s Monki’s kind of destination!“ says Design and Buying Manager Sofia Wallin. “Future Exotica is full of unexpected silhouettes in popping greens. But above all it’s about the prints: organic animal and plant motifs in techno-inspired textures like shiny foilor neon. This is one of the things we’re really excited about for SS2014."
