Emilio Pucci 2014 New Eyewear Collection draws influences from both the ready-to-wear and accessories collections. Women’s sunglasses and optical styles carry on the Italian design house’s legacy of lively, textile driven styles filled with pattern and color. Tie and dye prints replicate fine fabric on custom zyl with injected temples.
This year, the sun collection is inspired by clutches and bags made from brightly hued watersnake textures. The patterns are translated to injected materials and used in frame fronts and temples. Hardware details inspired by metal clasps and closures create elegant designs with lenses mounted on metal structures. Pattern prints and transparency play with light peeking through croc pattern play.
The optical collection also plays with light, through an oceanic interpretation of pattern. Wave looks fit and flatter on zyl shapes with flex temples. Frame colors lap across the brow line and along temples. Another inspiration is the hardware Marquise, an iconic concept inspired by the clasps and closures that can be seen throughout the ready-to-wear and accessories collections signified by a metal plaque providing minimalist detailing.
