With over 100 years of meticulous product history, Smythson has looked to its remarkable archive to find new inspiration for the most romantic holiday of the year. The ‘Catch Me if You Can’ flip book resonates admiration - a beautiful tribute to the holiday in traditional intrepid red. Bound in supple cross-grain calf-leather, whimsical imp characters from original hand-painted cards from 1900 are restored and recreated in a nostalgic flip book, projecting a charming scene of a miniature falling red heart. The second of the duo, affectionately named ‘Head Over Heels, is inspired by ‘Le Chauffeur’ – the iconic silver pepper pot featured in Smythson’s catalogues from 1909 as an engraved drawing. Beautifully brought to life, the character literally falls in love; tumbling down each page with red love hearts swiftly following him.
