FENDI presents an exclusive documentary <Inside The Mothership>, a film by French filmmaker Loic
Prigent straight from
the Maison’s inner core, reveals the buzz surrounding the FENDI Day in Milan
last September 19th. A
special eye for a whirlwind of celebratory events that included FENDI SS2014 fashion show, the opening of the luxurious new Milan boutique and the exhibition
Making Dreams: Fendi and the Cinema.
In the fast-paced reel, Prigent captures the lively behind-the-scenes moments starring Karl Lagerfeld, who from dawn to dusk manages a tight schedule of fittings, castings, show-time, the new boutique and the exhibition. Sharing the limelight are Silvia Venturini Fendi, Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of FENDI, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, stylist Charlotte Stockdale and the clothes and accessories, of course. The latter are the undisputed protagonists, recounted through the labor-intensive workmanship and futuristic, computer-inspired graphics that characterize each one. A case in point is a scintillating crystal-covered bustier dress that required over 300 hours of nimble work.
Lagerfeld, an untiring and always-inspired maestro, works around the clock, overseeing every detail, dictating the pace and joking with model Cara Delevingne. Moreover, he shares his viewpoint on the exclusive and inventive technique behind the season’s sheared fur and organza overlay.
"The video by Loic is further proof of the success of the Fendi Day held last September 19th in Milan with the Spring Summer 2014 Collection, the opening of the boutique on Via Montenapoleone and the exhibition at the Cinema Manzoni," states Pietro Beccari, Chairman and CEO of FENDI. "An exclusive project for an immersive experience that marks another important step forward for Fendi, enriching its history." Make-up sessions; the white atelier, a roomful of racks; editing the runway looks; evolving mood-boards and the high-energy fashion show are only a few of the highlights that will make the FENDI fans feel part of its world.
