Following the Days of Luck operation, Van Cleef & Arpels has developed a new digital platform devoted to the luck theme so dear to the Maison. Entitled ‘‘8 Seconds of Luck’’, the experience invites web-users to compose lucky messages in the form of short 8-second videos. Luck is a quality that the Maison holds dear, guiding its footsteps and inspiring some of its most emblematic creations. To celebrate this theme, the Maison has developed a unique platform called 8 Seconds of Luck, in the tradition of Jacques Arpels’ messages of luck. The nephew of Estelle Arpels, he liked to present his colleagues with four-leaf clovers accompanied by a poem. In a similar way, 8 Seconds of Luck enables web-users to share messages of luck with their own entourage.
The dedicated website http://8-seconds-of-luck.vancleefarpels.com has been designed as a participative space in which anyone can express themselves via an 8-second video. The videos are generated from a selection of one-second mini-films available on the website: these are inspired by quotations on the theme of luck or by references to different lines and materials from iconic Van Cleef & Arpels collections such as Alhambra® and Perlée™. Web‑users may also personalize their video by adding a special message for their loved-ones. An infinite field of possibilities opens up as people create unique sequences, which can then be viewed in an interactive gallery.
Developed in collaboration with the digital agency SAME SAME but different, in HTML and responsive design, the website is fully compatible with all platforms. Translated into different languages (French, English, simplified and traditional Chinese, Korean, etc.), it will be available in the various geographical areas that are celebrating Van Cleef & Arpels’ links with luck.
