Roberto Cavalli @ SS2014 Pre Collection

 The East, near and far, lays behind the inspiration of the Roberto Cavalli SS2014 pre-collection. A tireless world-traveller, in the midst of her path, stops at the Sammezzano Castle, near Florence: an amazing location, surreal and eclectic, with rooms decorated in Moorish style. The prince of her dreams awaits for her in one of the magical rooms of this fantastic place. Indian embroideries, Arabian architecture, African colors and batiks and Japanese pictorial art are combined with femininity and traditional Cavalli prints. The patchwork details are enriched by the neutral-colored delicate inlays in Chantilly lace, the use of graphically revisited animal prints and by different textile fragments, expression of the craftsmanship which has always characterized the Maison. The soft ‘guanterie’ leather is used for the leather items, decorated by long slim fringes and occasional python detailing.

 Fluid silhouettes featured on short and long, day-time and night-time dresses are created in light cottons and silk, printed or entirely embellished. The jackets and pants are made with linen and cotton, in natural and delicate colors, or mixed with contrasting prints in bold colors such as turquoise, amarillys and coral.

The mirrored embellishments, traditional of Indian sartoriality, decorate the strong biker jackets, oversized pants and brightly colored stretch nappa leather leggings. The knitwear presents linx crafted plastrons, detailed by thin fringes or created with a mix of refined textiles printed with different animal print graphics. Anatomically fitted knitwear dresses are created with jacquard finishings and embroidered hems. Evening leather micro-clutches are decorated with long fringes and studs or conquered by enamel bird of paradise details and covered with crystals. The Hera bag, must-have of the Maison, is produced in a multitude of colors and a refined mix of materials with golden and scaled features. The new mini model is perfect for the evening and enriched by jeweled dragonflies and dark golden accents.

  

The jewelry is ethnic-inspired and fresh and contemporary, featuring large enamel flowers and exotic animals enriched by stones and crystals. The shoes are characterized by soft geometric lines and masculine details, but are nevertheless incredibly glamorous.
