THOMAS PINK @ FW2013 Collection

THOMAS PINK FW2013 collection consists of a different themes and ventures into the season with a focus on British colour and sensibility. The great heroes of British motor racing, James Hunt and Jackie Stewart inspired us with their raffish sense of style, while British racing green and the distinctive classic reds of the circuit defined our colour palette. The whimsical bohemian, the Marquess of Bath and his eclectic estate deepened our colour palette further and inspired the way we created our layered looks with texture and fabrication.
The journey ended in high style in an alpine retreat embracing the après-ski. The season is divided into distinctive collections of shirt stories. Highlights include inspiration from THOMAS PINK archives of the period, which contribute to the creation of a melody of intricately constructed weaves and pattern in the Beaufort collection. The boldness of our Winchester and extreme cutaway collars set off our statement shirtings and British woven silk ties.
<WEEKEND AT SILVERSTONE> As racing has always been a British passion, historically and still today racing plays an important role in the British sporting calendar. Strong and vibrant colours from racing cars & outfits have been translated into our different product categories, especially shirting. The vibe is ‘smart casual’, versatile and can be worn in a work environment as well as in a more casual environment. For shirting, stripes are dominant this season paired with a small selection of delicate and elegant checks. We also have taken inspiration from old Thomas Pink shirts (80s) and re-worked them.
<MARQUESS OF BATH> is the incarnation of British eccentricity. Sitting in his drawing room with ‘Marquis’, his lion, we wanted to translate his quirky and eccentric vibe into our own product categories. The statement is bold and confident. Colours are aristocratic, autumnal, soft and rich, executed in beautiful patterns and materials. In tailoring we introduce strong, masculine tweeds, wool blends, cords, moleskins and vibrant knitwear. Shirt patterns have been re-worked from Thomas Pink’s archive.
<Alpine retreat> The colour palette is made up of warm tones and executed in bold patterns/checks and ski-stripe combinations. The mood is smart casual and focuses on the après-ski attire, relaxing in old and elegant chalets. Rich knitwear, luxury accessories combined with brushed cotton shirts -smart and casual.
Casual definitely took the ski trip – brushed flannels, mountain checks and go-faster ski stripes all speak of the slopes in rich hued colour and warm texture.Tailoring pays homage to the tradition of British climate proof dressing essential to a gentleman’s wardrobe. Prince of Wales flannel shines in a double breasted suit alongside a two button suit in regency blue sharkskin wool to guarantee the working gentleman is well-suited. Stalwart duffel coats, waxed cotton jackets and Scottish cashmere accessories complete the look.
