GIEVES & HAWKES continuing the modernisation of the house, No.1 Savile Row announced a creative collaboration with twice Oscar nominated director Mike Figgis. The AW2013 collection will be presented in a four minute short film ‘A Link Through Time’ with stills from the film featuring in the new global advertising campaign.
Shot in and around Harewood house, Yorkshire, England - the home of the Lascelles family for over five centuries, ‘A Link Through Time’ features hand-cut contemporary tweed suits, luxurious Shetland overcoats and the house’s signature midnight blue evening wear set against perhaps the finest of all Chippendale interiors and the rugged beauty of the Yorkshire moors.
On the new initiative Gieves & Hawkes Creative Director, Jason Basmajian comments: “This exciting project brings a dynamic and fresh perspective to Gieves & Hawkes. Balancing our aristocratic heritage with a modern viewpoint, this film is a leap forward into the digital universe for the brand. It is the first in a series of short films we are planning with various directors over the next year. The film creates a relevant context for the AW collection and will run on-line and in our stores worldwide. Working closely with Mike, we wanted to play with action, adventure, and a touch of humour while our hero remains an impeccably dressed English gentleman throughout every situation.”
The action is set to an original musical score composed and performed by Rosey Chan.
