THE
SWANK, for the first time to make a facelift by the collaboration with international renowned artist Ashley Wood to create a series of fashion illustrations exclusively for the FW2013 campaign. A series
of young and chic fashion figures will become the ambassadors that perfectly
match with the contemporary style of THE SWANK to bring fun, joy and love in
the coming season.
As the debut with a luxury fashion brand, Ashley gives an inspired approach to his artworks and meticulously transforms his characters into some adorable and peppy figures that are dressed up in chic and contemporary outfits. Unlike his signature style, the illustrations are light-hearted, young and bright that unexpectedly give a facelift to THE SWANK with a vivid touch. THE SWANK is to spread a youthful vibes this season through an array of contemporary womenswear including the masterpiece from Antonio Marras, the cutting-edge concepts from Dion Lee, the ultra modernity from Gabriele Colangelo, the kaleidoscope from MSGM, as well as the hippest men's wardrobes such as Les Hommes’ black elegance, Jean Paul Gaultier’s piecemeal heritage, Philipp Plein’s modern soldier, Kenzo’s sky jungle, Balmain’s East meets West and Giacomorelli’s limited edition.
"I just want to create something simple, fun and easy to look at. Art is an instinct that you just do what is right," said Ashley. "I also put my ‘W’ signature so that the audiences could know that is me." The Australian-born artist is an award-winning illustrator who works in mixed media including comic books, oil paintings, digital art and figures. "I see myself as an artist with no specific discipline and I think this collaboration could be fun."
