BLANCPAIN has debuted a series of brilliant
new timepieces at BASELWORLD 2013 for its celebrated collections including the
now 60-year-old Fifty Fathoms collection, the high-tech L-evolution collection,
the classical Villeret collection and the feminine Women collection. The
brand’s 2013 novelties have recently arrived in Hong Kong
to participate in
the “Spectacular Blancpain 2013 Exhibition” at the brand’s Ice House Street
Boutique in Central and 1881 Heritage Boutique in Tsim Sha Tsui recently.
A
pioneer since 1930 in the creation of women watches equipped with self-winding
movements, Blancpain pursues this path and regularly introduces models
developed for women sensitive to watchmaking complications. Loyal to tradition,
the new Chronograph Grande Date
associates a dainty mother-of-pearl face and a self-winding heart with several
complications within a model featuring generous gem-set lines. Precious
materials, such as diamond and mother-of-pearl are combined with Blancpain’s
impeccable watchmaking craftsmanship to create other new timepieces in the
Woman collection.
Blancpain
continues to introduce new members to its classical Villeret collection this
year. Continuing the success of the celebratory timepiece for the Chinese Year
of the Dragon in 2012, Blancpain has once again combined the high-tech titanium
and traditional damascening techniques on the Villeret Damascened Snake for 2013. On the Villeret Complete Calendar 8-Day, Blancpain combines two of the
brand’s signature complications: complete calendar and moonphase with an 8 day
(192 hours) power reserve on the classical Villeret design completed with a
blued-steel serpentine hand and relief Roman numerals among other traditional
elements. On the opaline dial of the Villeret
Ultrathin, the simplistic displays of hour, minute, small seconds, date and
the 100-hour power reserve indicator contrast 1.19 carats of white diamonds
adorning the watch’s bezel and dial, exemplifying the undeniable leadership of
Blancpain in both watchmaking and jewellery setting.
Two
new models joins the high-tech and sporty Blancpain L-Evolution collection in
2013 are the dark carbon fibre background of the L-Evolution R Grande Date provides great contrast and brilliant
readability to the oversized Arabic numerals of 9 and 12 and the large date
display at 6 o’clock. In addition to a carbon fibre dial and a large date
display, the L-Evolution R Flyback
Chronograph Grande Date is also endowed with a case of ceramised titanium
and a chronograph that provides accurate timing for every fast-paced and time-demanding
sports.
In 2013, Blancpain celebrates the 60th anniversary of its
Fifty Fathoms collection. Testifying to the past while looking firmly to the
future, the new Fifty Fathoms
Bathyscaphe incorporates modern Blancpain calibres renowned for their
robustness and reliability. The heart of each watch is a mechanical
self-winding movement equipped with a nonmagnetic silicon balance-spring to be
admired through a sapphire crystal case-back. Another novel feature for
Blancpain is the graduated scale in Liquidmetal®. This amorphous
metal alloy avoids any deformation and ensures perfect bonding with the ceramic
bezel insert. The hardness of these two materials serves to enhance the bezel’s
scratch resistance.
“Over the years, Blancpain, with its ingenious craftsmanship and everlasting designs, has made itself a veritable leader of the watchmaking industry and has also captured the hearts of many collectors and connoisseurs of prestigious watchmaking. This year at BASELWORLD, Blancpain has once again introduced a series of spectacular timepieces. I am much honoured to have the opportunity today to present these masterful creations and also the extreme craftsmanship and know-how of Blancpain to watch lovers and enthusiasts in Hong Kong .” Said Sincere Chiu, Vice President of Blancpain, Hong Kong and Macau.
