Veuve Clicquot Yellow Summer debuted in Hong Kong with a
spectacular kick-off party recently. The poolside transformed into a chic
urban beach with yellow beach umbrellas, cabanas, tropical floras, sand dunes
and paddle boarders, the venue was a stunning summer oasis against a backdrop
of Hong Kong’s iconic skyscrapers.
Despite the rain, guests arrived in swanky black tie ensembles and ladies donned graceful flowing gowns while gentlemen turned up in sleek jackets and bow ties paired with playful shorts. In true Riviera style, shoes were traded for a pair of yellow Veuve Clicquot sandals for the carelessly chic.
The evening’s festivities were enlivened by professional wakeskaters
who performed breathtaking jumps and feats across the length of the pool.
Artist extraordinaire Peter Yuill then performed live art on his masterpiece,
which was specially created for Yellow Summer and projected across five
surfboards. Peter is a Canadian-born artist living in Hong Kong, and is known
for his ink work on fine Chinese rice paper.
Throughout the evening, Peter Yuill added the final touches to his
artwork bit by bit until a stunning tour
de force emerged. His final piece will be displayed at subsequent Veuve Clicquot
Yellow Summer parties.
Adding a fun, whimsical touch to the urban beach theme were two Benefit Cosmetics kiosks and a powder room for ladies to freshen up in. Guests were able to discover the fresh summer collection with beauty experts at hand to share Benefit Cosmetics’ well-known instant beauty solutions and some quick tips & tricks. Veuve Clicquot surely had painted the town yellow.
