It has been a while we have not seen a big glam-lux production in the art deco era and the returning of this remade <The Great Gatsby> by F. Scott Fitzgerald and directed by Baz Luhrmann. Expected the unexpected, Lurhmann may not give you what you can see in <Moulin Rouge> but a few puny glam-lux party scenes and the production sets will sure blow your mind away especially for the audiences who love fashion and glam. Tiffany, Prada and Miu Miu catches many attention from their close up in-movie commercial for their gorgeous pieces. The movie is ambitious, every bit of the visual dazzled as one might expect. It may not be as entertaining as you thought and done it in the usual Lurhmann's way. Leonardo DiCaprio's Gatsby is in fact awfully good, charming yet uncertain. The score is imaginative while Lana Del Rey's <Young and beautiful> were played. Visually, the film is a spectacle of beauty with a myriad of beautiful people, exquisite settings, lavish locations and gorgeous costumes and a few great lines.
Lurhmann is still the perfect choice to direct this new adaptation as his movies are always loaded with amazing visuals ans sumptuous locales that nevertheless feel a little lacking emotionally.
