PRADA opens a new store in the upscale Valley Fair Mall of San José, California. This location, designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, occupies about 600 square metres overall on a single level and it offers the women's and men's ready-to-wear, bags, accessories and footwear collections. The outer storefront features a precious black marble cladding, enriched with polished steel profiles. The inner façade, also defined by black marble, stretches on two sides with a succession of light boxes and windows that highlight the wide central entrance located on a corner.
Inside, polygonal rooms define the different atmospheres, characterised by the typical design elements of Prada stores worldwide, including green fabric-covered walls and the black and white chequered marble floor alternating with beige carpeting. The women's area is characterised by niches covered in cera-coloured saffiano leather and wide tinted mirrors. Furniture is completed by green velvet sofas and precious display counters in polished steel and crystal.
The men's area features definitely masculine materials and finishes: ebony wood furniture and polished steel details, sofas in castorino-coloured velvet and display counters with black saffiano leather and crystal shelves.
