PRADA opens a new store in Kuwait City, in the prestigious “The Avenues” mall. The store, designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi, covers more than 850 square metres on two levels, and offers the men's and women's ready-to-wear, bags, accessories and footwear collections. Its storefront - a backlit resin screen framed in marble cladding - extends on two sides, harmoniously inserted in the mall's architecture and emphasising its structure. A unique interplay of geometry and transparency affords glimpses on the inside, thanks to curved
Corner windows, a wide light box and large windowpanes at the first floor. The ground floor, that presents the women's collections, features a sequence of three areas: the first two, displaying bags and footwear respectively, are characterised by their black and white chequered marble floor, display niches inset in green fabric walls, elegant crystal and polished steel counters and green velvet seats. The footwear area is furnished with the “Clover Leaf” sofas, designed by Verner Panton and exclusively reproduced for Prada. For ready-to-wear, perspex displays and skylights create an intimate, sophisticated atmosphere.
The first floor shows the men's collection with a strong, decisive image. Precious cases and counters in palladium metal combine with the staved floor and with ebony wood walls. This area is also defined by sophisticated salons furnished with rust-coloured ostrich leather sofas and dark brown carpets.
