ECCO® celebrating its 50th anniversary
in style and introduces its latest shoe, ECCO® MIND. With playful references to three of the
best-selling shoes in company history, ECCO MIND reminds us of some of ECCO’s biggest
design breakthroughs from the past, and why it is also ready to step
confidently and stylishly into the future. ECCO MIND is a shoe that keeps pace
with the active Scandinavian lifestyle with its very own take on comfort and style.
ECCO MIND also draws playfully
on the company’s heritage of iconic, functional design. Three breakthrough ECCO designs that were popular in the late
seventies and early eighties. ECCO Joke, representing the 1970s, is there, the first shoe to leave its
mark with the ECCO logo under its sole. ECCO Free and ECCO Time, representing the
1980s, two more designs that propelled the brand into international success,
have also contributed more than a few of their good-looking genes.
Chief Designer Niki
Tæstensen wanted both to celebrate the past and point to the future when he set
out to create ECCO MIND. He pulls it off by staying very much in the present. His
brand-new interpretation of the classically cool moccasin is for everyone in
the contemporary family. Tæstensen selected a palette of six colors for ECCO
MIND outsoles and supple camel leather uppers that are some of 2013’s hottest. Each
shoe comes with two shoe laces, one in cream and one in a bright color. And the
direct-injected sole cushions the foot with the best, all-day comfort that technology
can currently provide.
