The Inaugural Hong Kong Affordable Art Fair held a 3 days exhibition event at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre recently bringing contemporary art to all. Complimentary educational programs will be presented by Art Equity, the fair’s official Education Partner, who hosted dynamic panel discussions with leading young artists, as well as assisting visitors to navigate their way through the art world. Professional advice was given on starting a collection and discover more about the Asian art market.
Hong Kong’s Young Talent was a major highlight of the fair, with an on-site exhibition providing young, emerging local artists a platform in which to showcase their artwork. Eric Leung Shiu Kee, the experienced Hong Kong curator of the exhibition, said, “Affordable Art Fair supports the young, local art scene, showcasing artworks focused on the generation’s interpretation and vision of the city, through their experimentation with a variety of mediums.”
Lead sponsor of the Affordable Art Fair, DBS Bank (Hong Kong) offered an array of privileges to provide an extraordinary experience for all art lovers. DBS Bank’s “Treasures in the World of Art” Lucky Draw offers those purchasing art at the fair a chance to win a “3-Day-2-Night travel package for two to Singapore”, together with two admission tickets to Affordable Art Fair Singapore, taking place in November 2013. Take home art with privileges!
All art displayed at the fair was for sale, with work priced between HK$1,000 to HK$100,000, and 75% of all pieces priced below HK$75,000 and something to suit every budget.
