Roger Vivier SS2013 themed Urban Summer collection stepping
from a Guy Bourdin or Helmut Newton shoot, the Roger Vivier heroine is the
sheer epitome of womanhood. Whilst utterly contemporary, efficient and
pragmatic, she refuses to compromise on her preference for unique, sensual
luxury. All stems from a tension between whimsical and realism. Trousers rather than skirts, ultra-feminine
from dawn ‘til dusk, day and night merged into one. The frontier between
intellectual chic and urban nomad has simply disappeared. Borrowing desert
shades from Kenyan women, her bags and shoes evoke sand dunes, spice and
southern flora tones, saturated with pigment. Her accessories are at one with
her spirit, in affirmed graphic style or the pure sparkle of vibrant shades:
purple, Bengal pink, turquoise, ultramarine, sand, gold...
The <Day Graphics> Consisting
of two Micro Metro bags, square-heeled sandals and joined by a new style with
straps embellished with patina bronze gourmette chains, this season’s Graphic
family is presented in shades of beige and black, desert and volcanic rock, for
a scorching summer. Suede in sky blue, clay, terracotta or sulphur yellow
completes this southern flora and fauna-inspired palette.
The belle is certainly not afraid of heights. She loves to flaunt Sexy Day, delicate multi-strap sandals,
Bibendum platforms or ultra-compensated Archi
Compact sandal and mules. She embraces her every facet, including her
masculine side in men’s slippers re-interpreted by Bruno Frisoni in a dozen new
variants. Whimsical as she may be, the Vivier girl also recognises the virtues
of timeless style. The new Square bag is one such style classic.
This
Persian-origin motif explodes over Papillon and multi-strap T Bar sandals in
all of its vibrant colours, as if stepping straight out of a Guy Bourdin photo
shoot. The Micro Metro bag is dressed in corduroy cotton printed with the tonal
motif and features a contrasting suede trim. In quirkier style, a
light-reflecting version of the print is created thanks to its tone-on-tone embroidered multi-coloured sequins, exquisitely swathing an open-toe Palace
stiletto over metallic lacquered heel or Folder pouch. Spectacular as a
fireworks display.
Having joined the illustrious ranks of Roger Vivier’s icons two seasons ago, the Prismick bag and shoe line develops. <Marlène> emerging
almost unchanged from the 1960’s archives, the new Marlène pump boasts more
than just an eye-catching vintage buckle. Created in suede and in intense pop pigments, Marlène poses in turquoise with apple green buckle and heel or in red
suede set against a bubblegum pink buckle and heel. A vitamin cure
for feet! <Maxi Boîte de Nuit > An essential companion for every beautiful woman at exclusive dinners and parties,

smartphones (seen in slightly larger sizes), the Roger Vivier Boîte de Nuit
grows more pragmatic in slightly more generous form, for even more ergonomic

A new maxi format is set to appear amongst Prismick accessories, a venerated range now at Roger Vivier. The giveaway: with a nod to handbags of a bygone era, its hexagonal clasp closes with a delightful click, revealing its depth of character. The Prismick line also welcomes the “Ajour” shopper. Its nude suede arbours knitted and woven leather découpés. Ultra-light and unlined, it may pose as sportswear, but at heart it’s a true city accessory.
