Kaiseki restaurant Hatsu being the first and only restaurant using the salt block from the Himalayas to grill its Kagoshima A5 Black cattle in Hong Kong. After becoming the only restaurant to use Akita Komachi rice from
Akita, Head Chef Mr. Kon Toshio is trying something for diners to have an unforgettable dining and culinary experience. The unprecedented rectangular
pink salt blocks are unprocessed and 100% natural. They are found at least
5,000 metres below the surface in the Himalayas with zero pollution.
The blocks are formed after millenniums of natural drying and baking by the sun
and countless shifting of the earth crusts. Many of the minerals required by
humans are contained inside these blocks. As a grilling tool, they can
significantly increase the flavours of the food with an incredible heat provided.
Hatsu’s exclusive
Salt Block Grill Set is served with Kagoshima A5 black cattle. Precious
salt blocks are lined with grills and set onto a gas stove. Diners can then
cook the non-marinated beef on the blocks. The meat has been diced to ensure
that it will not absorb too much oil while drilling and by simply grilling both sides without any seasoning. The salt does not take away the freshness of the beef, but adds another
dimension to its taste. It is a savoury experience you will never
forget. Besides, seafood set includes Hokkaido snow crab legs, surf clams and scallops are the alternative option to enjoy the cooking on the Salt Block Grill. Assorted Bento sets are also part of the dellights for both visually and gastronomically.
