BALLY SS2013 men collection showcasing the contemporary Bally’s world of modern
men’s shoes, accessories and ready-to-wear imbued with a nostalgic spirit that speaks of
luxurious outdoor adventures aligning perfectly with the Swiss leather goods
house’s pioneer heritage. The collection's palette includes stone, oat, nude, fawn
and sage off-set with touches of white, bordeaux, dove grey, graphite
and classic black. elements surrounded by an array of
items that represent his discerning appreciation of superior design and
quality, be it vintage or modern. From his cutting edge Swiss-made bike to his favourite books to
his sumptuous Bally wardrobe, every piece has been carefully selected and placed to showcase
the Bally man’s refined sensibilities.
Bally’s new Forester urban expedition
boot embodies modern functionality. Featuring archive inspired strap and
buckle detail on the tri-colour leather upper, the Forester boot introduces an exclusive natural
rubber non-slip lug sole and an innovative detachable moisture-wicking interior sock, each
authenticating Bally’s modern design edge.
A rich suede holdall from the new Verbier accessories range aligns perfectly with the Bally man’s adventures, reaffirming the Swiss brand’s exquisite leather craftsmanship and quality. Verbier centrepieces also include the forest trek backpack, an overnight holdall and a practical tote, all unlined in soft suede and canvas. The signature boot buckle and strap elements feature as an adjustable handle as does Bally’s specially engineered Trainspotting stripe integrated into the leather as added detail.
Scribe Legere, with its lightweight
micro-sole, now extends to a classically styled chukka boot in unlined, fine
suede. This lightweight city shoe is crafted from box calf and pebble grained
leather, contrasted by the Berner’s casual unlined perforated leather derby with
a naturally finished sole. The Bally moccasin is re-introduced with a new
injection moulded sole for maximum comfort and function.
The women collection inspired
by shoe forms and intricate details found in Bally’s impressive archive, an
elegant new toe shape and fine leather cut work are the graceful hallmarks of
this modern collection. The archive
spotlight falls on a new blunt toe shape from 1961 that forms the basis of the
sophisticated Butterfly shoe collection, offering flats to pumps in a variety
of heel heights. Beautifully detailed uppers from the 1930s, characterized by
the fine ribbon detail of cut leather work, have been devotedly embraced
throughout the collection
Merging
these concepts, the result is a highly stylish collection of contrasting
positive and negative layers, straight lines and curves, colour blocking,
layering and sublime material mixes. The
collection showcases Bally’s leather craftsmanship mastery, the signature
element of the Swiss brand and its products, which feature the immediately
recognizable techniques of cut-outs, mesh, perforation and embellishment,
endowed from the brand’s rich archive.
The
shoe collection includes every summer essential: pumps, sandals and flats that
mix precious python in chalk against soft nappa, while sturdy cuoio merges with
cork wedges and resin heels. Accessories
flow effortlessly from the shoes with their elegant use of ribbon cut leather
work, transformed into the Papillon range of totes, clutches, belts and
statement neck pieces.
The
Delfina range of accessories has been expanded to include an array of classic
day to evening structured bags in exotic skins or soft nappa trimmed with
lizard, each carrying the new Bally lock hardware. While
the shoe remains the inspirational force, the ready-to-wear capsule collection
declares itself the accessory to the accessory with clean graphic silhouettes
in organza, satin, soft nappa leather knitted ribbon layers and soft python
used as whole or part of a garment. Engineered cut work necklines reflect the
exquisite detail of the shoes and accessories.
Colours
reference the 1960s work of British painter Ben Nicholson from when he lived in
Switzerland. Chalk, white, oyster, nude, pale aqua, pale lemon, pale pistachio
sit alongside soft gold, biscuit and graphic black, contrasted against pops of
acid orange, yellow and green. Like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, Bally continued the style evolution of the
luxury and reinventing it as an extraordinarily contemporary collection.
