Swarovski held a
private design exhibition in Artis Tree, Taikoo Place, Hong Kong recently showcasing its collaborations in the worlds of
fashion, jewellery, film, music, theatre and dance, art, architecture, and design.
The exhibition introduced the Atelier Swarovski SS13 collection, alongside
exclusive designer collaborations, seen for the very first time in the city. Atelier
Swarovski creates the ultimate designer luxury fashion accessory line by
collaborating with the world’s leading designers to inspire product innovations
with crystal.

Services and Member of the Executive Board, Swarovski Crystal Business, has
collaborated with long-time partners and acclaimed designers Mary
Katrantzou, Stephen Webster and Fredrikson Stallard to illustrate how design
communities around the world can push boundaries by using Swarovski crystals as
a creative ingredient.
The exhibition features some of Swarovski’s unique
collaborations from its fashion, jewellery, theatre and dance archive and
design projects with pieces by renowned designers, including Georg Baldele,
Tord Boontje, Christopher Kane, Shaun Leane, Hannah Martin, Yoko Ono, Philip
Treacy, Stephen Webster, Mary Katrantzou, Fredrikson Stallard and Viktor &
Rolf.
The Atelier Swarovski
SS13 collection presented at the exhibition includes pieces by shoe designer
Nicholas Kirkwood, designer Vanessa Seward, jewellery and product designer
Stefano Poletti, artist and designer Justin Giunta, and a collection in honour
of Diana Vreeland who was known as the 20th Century’s
greatest arbiter of style. The Diana Vreeland Collection, limited pieces consists of bold resin cuffs and rings,
a crystal gilet, and luxurious necklaces that fall like crystal rain,
reflecting Vreeland’s love of colour, form and style.
Swarovski Gems’ latest collaboration with renowned
Hong Kong jewellery designer, Jessica Fong, features six jewellery pieces that is
inspired by nature and created with Swarovski gem stones, and is yet another
exclusive showcase at the exhibition. Other includes the signature
pieces from Swarovski’s Art, Architecture and Design division, which partners
with leading designers to create installation pieces inspired by Swarovski
crystals. The works of Fredrikson Stallard and Tord Boontje are among the
designers featured at the exhibition.
This year has seen a deepening of Swarovski’s
involvement in the arts and culture with the launch of a dedicated cultural
sponsorship programme, including John Pawson’s luminous site-specific artwork
‘Perspectives’ at St Paul’s Cathedral; illuminating the Château de Versailles
with high-tech chandeliers; collaborating with Christian Lacroix at the Paris
Opera; and a Founding Partnership with the Palais de Tokyo in Paris. The
opening in London of ‘Digital Crystal: Swarovski at the Design Museum’
challenged some of the most exciting talents in contemporary design to explore
the future of memory in the fast-developing digital age.
Prior to Hong Kong, The Swarovski Design Exhibition debuted
in Beijing and is a testament to the 10 million Swarovski Elements that are
used each year, from its mastery of precision to a partner across industries.
