MCM held a star-studded fundraising party at their flagship store in Central to kick off the
programme “Raise Money with Pink Bags”. The charity function in collaboration with Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry (THE REGISTRY) to
support the families in need. From now to 31
December, 2012, selected items at MCM, a portion of
the proceeds will be donated to THE REGISTRY.
In support for the event, Sung Joo Kim, Chairperson and Chief Visionary Officer of MCM Holding AG, delivered a message of hope saying, “I believe all women should be free from this disease. We are here to aid in the empowerment of resources for optimism and confidence for a better tomorrow for women around the world”.
Dr. Ava Kwong, Chairman of THE REGISTRY presented the latest findings about hereditary breast cancer and called on public to look at illness and cancer in a positive way. THE REGISTRY has received high international recognition as the largest Chinese database of high risk families. The results from researches on genetic mutations have led to changes in management of hereditary cancers and families.
Established in 2007, HK Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry (THE REGISTRY) is a charitable institution dedicated to serve the underprivileged and high risk groups of breast cancer and ovarian cancer by formulating preventive and screening measures through data collection, research, education, training and caring service in Hong Kong.
