Carly Rae Jepsen, the name may still sound strange to many but her <Call Me Maybe> introduced this Canadian Idol to the world. Jepsen may not be the most charismatic songbird to the top charts and she does not have the voice like Adele, nor the lusty populism of Katy Perry and endless heartache of Taylor Swift. But what she has really are some real good songs that makes you like her and follow her. Just <Call Me Maybe> had invaded and overtook pop radio this summer because the song is an astonishingly catchy piece of sonic cotton candy. This <Kiss> album follow Jepsen's 2011 EP <Curiosity> are fresh and timely. There is something refreshing about hearing romance explored without the obligatory come-hither lyricism that serve as a prerequisite for contemporary pop tarts. It is the sound of an artist relentlessly trying to prove her staying power and transform the "magic in a bottle" into a delectable cocktail. Every song is designed like the sugary, bite-sized candy. <Beautiful>, the duet with Justin Bieber are something what both of their fans are waiting for. You may get fatigue on the second half sags as the candy bubblegum tracks seemingly keep on going with what you have listened from the first half. There is clearly nothing went wrong with your player but just checking!! Every now and then, we do need fresh faces and new voices for the music industry, Jepsen's arrival make the perfect timing entry.
