IWC
Schaffhausen officially inaugurated its new boutique
in the Mall at Pacific Place, Hong Kong recently and premiered an ex- clusive exhibition of historic and contempo- rary models of IWC’s iconic Pilot’s Watches. This new boutique perfectly reflects IWC’s spirit and to celebrate the new boutique
in IWC’s year of highflyers, a journey through the world of aviation
in an exhibition dedicated to the iconic Pilot’s Watch family. More than 70 years of this family’s history are highlighted, ranging from the very first Pilot’s Watches of the 1930s and 1940s to the 2012 collection.
The
exhibition revisits milestones
such as the very first Special Pilot’s Watch from 1936 and the Big Pilot’s Watch from 1940 – the biggest wristwatch ever manufactured for military
service with the 52 T. S. C pocket watch calibre. Then came the Mark 11 from 1948, originally built for the Royal Air Force and the official service watch for more than 30 years. Together
with the 2012 Pilot’s
Watch novelties.
With
a clear focus on technology and develop- ment, the Swiss watch manufacturer IWC Schaffhausen has been producing watches of lasting value since 1868. The company has
gained an international reputation based on a passion for innovative
solutions and technical ingenuity. One of the world’s leading brands in the luxury watch segment, IWC crafts masterpieces of Haute Horlogerie at its finest, combining supreme precision with exclusive design.
“We’re excited to gather so many
friends of IWC tonight. Our new Pacific Place boutique is raring
to go and we look forward to welcoming you to explore our new boutique and learn more of the history of IWC Pilot’s Watches,” said Benoit de Clerck, Managing
Director North East Asia. Such eager anticipation is surely justified, for both the new
boutique and the inaugural
exhibition are certain to prove unmissable attractions.
