To celebrate its 35th
anniversary, La Maison du Chocolat has collaborated with Atelier Hapax to give the famed Parisian design company full reins on expanding and adding new additions to its
chocolate universe. Founded by Sinan Sigic, Atelier
Hapax dedicates itself into creating art from dismantling and assembling
foreign pieces together. Born into a family of craftsmen, Sigic naturally turned his career towards handcraft. After
spending several years in various fashion houses such as Maison Martin
Margiela, and Louis Vuitton, he founded Atelier Hapax. Renowned for its creativity, Atelier Hapax takes home the old and makes something new, from a chess set made out of famous brand
packaging to a necklace made out of the pages of a book, their creations are unique and full of poetry, showcased through meticulous weaving, embroidery and origami techniques of
its products.
As an artist would take inspiration from his surroundings, Sigic takes pleasure in crafting unique and quirky pieces from recycled materials. May it be an unwanted doll, an intricately designed gift box that has lost its function or a singled out glove, Sigic would always be able to find new uses and forms for these items. He turns them into lamps, games, necklaces, handbags, and more.
Atelier Hapax has fallen in love with La Maison du
Chocolat’s packaging as much as it has with the brand’s delectable sweets. Using La Maison du Chocolat’s distinctive ribbons, coffrets, shopping bags and boxes
as materials, Atelier Hapax has created a line of must-haves you will never
want to throw away. Join La Maison du Chocolat to witness its ethereal ribbons,
signature shopping bags and exquisite boxes embark on an endeavor of rebirth
and take on new silhouettes.
