Rupert Sanderson @ AW2012 Collection

Rupert Sanderson AW2012 collection is a feast for the senses, in which he evokes iconic images from  the past and makes them his own. Palettes of warm winter hues and futuristic metallic are mixed with strong, rich blacks and brought out in textured leathers, glace kids and colonic suedes.

The <TABOO> in London steps through those infamous club doors in a pair of MARILYN hot-lips sandals, These playful, pouty platforms are erupting with the glitz and glamour associated with likes of Leigh Bowery with a little Joel Grey circa Cabaret in 1972. Ruby and gold encrusted suedes are astride hot-strass lips and molten shimmers. Big lips are in!
The 18th century Romanticism <FAVELL> is rather feminine and regal. Inspired by the notoriously lavish but dresses of the Queen of France and Navarre, Marie Antoinette. The style is designed with concealed platform, ballerinaesque block toe, towering back heel and finishes with refined and luxe satin. The front is ruffled, layered and tied with a double satin bow to mimic the Queen's bustle and the layer materials at the back of her elaborate gowns.

The<POMP> is a tribute to Parisian Marquise, Madame de Pampadour fittingly named after the influential chief mistress of Louis XV. It is styled in either gold or fuchsia Duchess Satin with a laser cut suede overlay which works a a set back 130mm heel with concealed platform and ballerina block toe.

Mirror metallics and clear vinyl teamed with sparkling suedes and jet-black leathers, creating body armor are found in <TEONI>, <PRUNIA> and <MION>. The curvy, feminine forms are revealed with mesh cut-outs and sharp pointed toes. Symmetrical silhouettes and dyed raw edging take the design ethos to a whole new world.

The <VERMONT> is the luxed-up classic equestrian boots, going back to their roots with a sharp utilitarian design and chic new shape where the urban cowboy <JUSSY> takes its inspiration from garnish tattoos and well-worn motifs- wear with a gun in your holster.
