Rue du Mail AW2012 presents its latest interpretation of its core brand themes of timeless elegance, eclectic rock and modern French chic with an organic romanticism rooted in the Parisian essence. Contrasts and contradictions are key for the Rue du Mail collection. From the show’s black-and-white tailored opening to its freeflowing deepjewel hued closing; the very feminine cinched-waist dresses to the sporty satin varsit jacket ensembles; the armour-like variegated knits pitted against abstract graphic printed on soft fabrics; and the modern laser cut-out patterns versus traditional hand embroideries — Sitbon certainly delivered her fresh new definition of strong femininity.
“I wanted her to be a bit more androgynous, with a strong attitude,” designer Martine Sitbon says of her muse for her latest Rue du Mail collection for AW2012. “But at the same time, she is still very feminine and prefers something softer.”
